What It Does
The sigma mixer (kneader) is designed for intensive mixing and kneading of high-viscosity, sticky and non-flowing materials. It processes silicone rubber, adhesives, sealants, putties, chewing gum base and ceramic compounds with thorough kneading action.
How It Works
Two sigma-shaped blades rotate in a trough-shaped vessel at different speeds. The faster blade shears the material, while the slower blade folds and kneads it. The material is repeatedly cut, folded, and compressed, resulting in uniform distribution of pigments, fillers and additives.

Sigma mixers can handle materials ranging from viscous pastes to chewing-gum-consistency compounds. Typical materials include silicone rubber, sealants, hot melt adhesives, body fillers and ceramic clay.
Standard discharge is hydraulic tilting of the trough. For paste-like materials, a screw extrusion discharge can be fitted to push material out through a die.
